General surgeon with a practice dedicated to hernia and abdominal wall surgery, practicing in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Calm clinical authority: surgical decisions grounded in international guidelines, not promises.
This is what I operate most, and where my reading, training and judgment are concentrated. Every decision is explained before it is made.
The groin hernia, the most common one. Open or laparoscopic repair depending on the case, and the judgment of when surgery is actually indicated.
Inguinal hernia surgery →At the navel. In adults it does not close on its own, and a small defect is not always the safer one.
Umbilical hernia surgery →Over the scar of a previous operation, including complex abdominal wall and reoperated cases.
Incisional hernia surgery →Also general and laparoscopic surgery: gallbladder, appendicitis and abdominal surgical emergencies.
A surgical consultation is not a place for pressure or promised outcomes. It's a place to understand the diagnosis, the real options, and their risks — with the time that requires.
That's why this site avoids unsupported figures and claims: what's communicated here is aligned with verifiable clinical guidelines, and anything not yet confirmed is explicitly flagged.
Decisions in this practice rest on international hernia guidelines. These are the societies that write them, and to which Dr. Soler belongs as an active member.

This is not a decorative list. The guidelines cited throughout this site — HerniaSurge for groin hernia, and the joint European Hernia Society and American Hernia Society guidelines for umbilical, epigastric and abdominal wall hernia — are published by these same societies. Membership is what keeps the practice current with the evidence applied in the operating room.
